A rosette
One of the fifteen rosettes in the horizontal row lying in the middle of the façade of S. Maria Novella, in Florence.
You can see an other one; or you can see a drawing of the same rosette.
The rosette has a dihedral symmetry type D4. If we consider separately the different annuli, we would have, from the interior top the exterior, symmetry types D4, D8, D16.
