A chessboard
Draughts, a game of war and strategy, elaborated in Europe from the arab Alquerque, whose origins traced back to the Ancient Egypt.
If we consider the colouring, the chessboard without pieces has dihedral symmetry of type D2, that is broken into a cyclic symmetry of type C1 by the initial diposition of the pieces.
