Knots at the mirror
This exhibit of the section "Topology" in the exhibition matemilano shows a trefoil knot and a eight-figure knot with their specular images. The right and left trefoil knot are not equivalent; on the contrary, we can manipulate a rope in the position of the eight-figure knot into its specular. This sequence of images gives an idea of the manipulation.
