The floor of a synagogue
A floor in the Scola Ponentina o Spagnola, one of the synagogues in the jewish Ghetto, in Venice, showing a decorative pattern with concentric squares; there is an interesting detail in the opposite end, near the altar, where a square appears not to be in its right place: this should be a mistake done on purpose, in order to remind the imperfection of human nature.
One can see an other overall view of the floor.
