A frieze on a cylinder
In Santander (Spain), on the Avenida de la reina Victoria, the decoration of this landmark shows very well the relation between the 7 frieze groups in the plane and the 7 prismatic subgroups of space isometries. If we imagine to roll the landmark on a plane, we would get a frieze, with symmetry type 22∞.
