A fern leaf
The leaf of a fern-tree evokes the sensation of symmetry: every leaf is obtained from the preceeding one with a tranformation that is composed of a glide reflection and a homothety. On the whole, there's no symmetry that fixes the figure. If we observe the fins in detail, we realize that each leaf looks like the first one: it is an example of fractal symmetry.
