Crossed hood
The border of the Moebius strip consists of only one circumpherence: this animation shows what happens to the Moebius strip if we move this circumpherence in order to position it in the three-dimensional space in the usual way. A slider controls the passage, while other buttons give you the possibility of seeing the Moebius strip transparent, or cutting it, or the possibility of observing a line segment that runs across the Moebius strip. The final result of this animation is the so-called "crossed hood", that has some self-intersections. See another animation, in which we see the same passage on the Moebius strip without self-intersections.
